SNAKE SALVADOR
Snake Salvador is Darryl Hocking and Kevin Tutt. They formed in 2001 and are based in Auckland, New Zealand. Their music is inspired by an eclectic range of genres; from nu-jazz, trip hop, twisted 80s synth, gospel and old school funk. Snake Salvador released the album ‘Live at the Oyster Bar’ (Punchy Wah) in 2007, followed by their second album ‘Ultra Classic’ (Punchy Wah) in 2013. These received considerable airplay across a range of student and commercial stations in New Zealand and Australia, with ‘Live at the Oyster Bar’ acknowledged as CD of the week on Auckland station George FM. Their latest album 'All-Star Resort' is due for release in 2016. ". . . a well-crafted concoction of styles and sounds, and a rather pleasant surprise. Highlights are the nu-soul of Drive Time and bluesy Delta and I can confirm that there are no real duds included. Worth your time and money." Jeff Neams (Waikato Times) "Local chill-pillers Snake Salvador release their debut album and it's a beauty. From the Germain-esque Delta to the gospal appraisal of He's a Wonder it's all good, very good." Black Magazine ONELUNG
Onelung is Kevin Tutt. Formed in 1997, he has released 7 studio albums in New Zealand to a small eclectic audience. The bent style of sample-based electronic/jazz/funk, with an ear for melody. With a distinct sound and many tv ad placements, this is music with heart but also brains.
Onelung's latest release is a new 14 track CD 'Broken Harmonix Chords' which can be downloaded here, along with his earlier releases. Copies of Onelung CDs are also available for purchase. "It's a wonder ad agencies and film producers aren't sprinting to get Tutt on-board for soundtracks. Here he effortlessly shuffles the deck again for an album which provokes and delights in equal measures." Graham Reid (Elsewhere)
